Fischer, Texas
The charming community of Fischer,
Texas is located on the north side of Canyon Lake
between the communities of
Blanco and San Marcos. Folks are friendly
here, and you're likely to find a pace of life you
thought had vanished. What you won't find is
chain stores and endless crowds. This little
corner of the Hill Country is true to its roots.
The centerpoint of the community is
the Fischer store, where you'll find a variety of
one of a kind treasures. We recently bought an
antique dining room table at the store and couldn't
be happier. In addition, Fischer is the home
of Fischer Hall, a community hall featured in the
movie Honeysuckle Rose. There's also a nine
pin bowling alley where the pins are set by hand.
Fischer offers a variety of real
estate alternatives and some of the best values in
the Hill Country. Subdivided lots start at
about $5000 and it's still possible to build or find
a quality house for less than $150,000. Many
local residents commute to San Antonio or Austin
daily. Fischer offers a quality of life fast
disappearing.
